Survey on Waste Minimisation in Singapore

Singapore is a highly urbanised and industralised country. As a result of its rapid population and economic growth, the amount of waste that Singaporeans generate is on the rise. Today, each person produces about 0.86kg of waste per day. With continued population and economic growth, Singapore will need to keep building new incineration plants and sanitary landfills to deal with our waste. However, given our limited land area, this solution is not sustainable. The objective of this survey is to gauge Singaporeans' response towards the ongoing efforts to reduce, recycle and reuse waste as well as possible alternative approaches to managing Singapore's waste more sustainably.
